What is EMF & Why is it a Hazard?
We are all exposed to unnatural levels of electromagnetic fields (EMF) from objects we use and come into contact with every single day.
We cannot see these frequencies but they exist everywhere from the Andes to the Amazon.
In 1997 only 1% of the population had mobile phones but since then the development of smaller, compact and portable electronic devices like laptops, smartphones and tablets means we are now holding these objects with high energy forces close to our bodies on an almost continual basis.
We are beginning to learn that long-term exposure to these unnatural levels of radiation can cause long-term health problems.
Symptoms Associated with EMF
The WHO classified EMF as a potential carcinogen in 2011 and experts are currently calling for this risk to be increased to a probable or known carcinogen.
Many links have been established between EMF and ill-health effects including:
brain tumours
breast cancer
heart problems
childhood leukaemia
chronic fatigue syndrome
diabetes
ADHD
autism
infertility
neurological disorders
electrohypersensitivity (EHS)
headaches and migraines
Sweden was the first country to recognise EHS as a medical condition and assists sufferers accordingly. Austria has also issued guidelines for doctors on EHS as a duty of care.
Common EMF Sources in and Around the Home
We usually talk in terms of high-frequency and low-frequency EMF. Different objects inside and surrounding our home emit different levels of EMF and here are just a handful of the most common ones:

microwave ovens
mobiles, tablets and laptops

home appliances i.e. fridge
WiFi and Bluetooth

We cannot see, hear, taste, or feel EMF. The only way to know levels of EMF in your home is to test with a proper meter.

I am an experienced environmental scientist and EMF consultant operating completely independent of any organisation or binding contractual commercial arrangement.
Whilst I’ve studied EMF in great detail, I also work closely with people suffering from EMR/EMF sensitivities and this allows me to bring a hugely practical approach to my advice and assessments.

How does In-Home EMF Testing work?
- We have a preparatory online or phone consultation to discuss your needs.
- You complete a brief questionnaire to identify the most likely sources of EMF in the home.
- I undertake on-site EMF testing for electric fields, electromagnetic fields, high-frequency fields and dirty electricity from all key internal and external sources around your home/office and document results.

4. If relevant I undertake on-site EMF testing of body voltage and radio-frequency levels to determine levels on the body while sleeping.
5. I assess your bedrooms and mattresses to determine if they are also contributing to EMF exposure
6. If you choose I can assess the electrical circuits to your bedrooms should you want to shut these off at night time.
7. I give in-depth verbal feedback on the day allowing you to start your low-EMF living straight away.
8. Shortly after the assessment I will issue your EMF Assessment Package which gives you all the guidance you need on implementing practical solutions for your unique situation.

How does an Online EMF Assessment work?
- We have a preparatory phone hook-up to chat through your concerns and priorities.
- I send you a questionnaire to determine the main sources of EMF in your home.
- I send you a copy of my EMF Kickstarter eBook, giving you a really good grounding in the types of EMF, terminology and their potential impacts.
- I send you a copy of my EMF Measurements Guide which you can use to record your readings around the home if you have a meter (don’t worry if you don’t have a meter, it’s useful but not necessary)

7. I send you my EMF Troubleshooting Guide so you can easily start making changes overnight.

- Anyone who wants a quick EMF measurement of one or more potential sources of EMF around the home to alleviate nagging concerns. This could be a nearby powerline, transformer, mobile phone tower, or a meter box or solar inverter on a bedroom or living room wall. Instead of a comprehensive EMF assessment for the entire home which looks at all four EMFs, this onsite check simply focuses on the EMF(s) of concern for a certain part of the home.
How do Onsite EMF Checks Work?
- We have a preparatory online consultation to discuss your needs, concerns and the scope of work.
- I undertake the required EMF measurements at your home.
- I give in-depth verbal feedback on the day.
Shortl y after the assessment, I provide you with an email of the results and recommendations as well as a complimentary electronic copy of my EMF Kickstarter Guide with printable EMF Hygiene checklists. A full EMF assessment of the home can be incorporated if warranted/agreed at the time.
