Your Business

Do you run a health and wellness business? Or thinking of moving office soon? When people enter your workplace it makes sense to ensure the environment is as natural and healthy as possible.

What Are the Health Hazards in Your Business?

Health and beauty spas, gyms, wellness clinics, and the like are places that clients visit to improve their health and wellbeing. It makes sense then, that these environments and the surrounding areas should have as few environmental toxicants as possible. Unfortunately, that’s often not the case.

If your client base is mostly small children and pregnant women, we absolutely need to get this right.

Common health hazards found in and around clinics, studios, offices, and gyms include:

=

EMF and wireless communications

=

artificial light and flicker

=

proximity to mobile phone towers and power lines

=

poor indoor air quality

=

chemicals in drinking water

=

levels of dirty electricity

=

chemicals in cleaning products

=

allergens

=

air pollution from nearby highways or industry

We spend many hours in our workplaces where our bodies are attacked by these environmental stressors.

If your business isn’t doing what it can to reduce them, your staff and your clients may not be experiencing a truly healthy visit or that feeling of peace and wellness that your business promotes.

Common Sources of Toxicity in a Health or Wellness Business

Some of the toxicants found in wellness environments are obvious, such as chemicals in cleaning products, while others may come as a surprise.

The most likely are:

r

fluorescent and LED lighting

r

WiFi and Bluetooth speakers

r

lack of natural lighting

r

powerlines or switchboards

r

mobile phone towers

r

solar panels (yours or nearby)

r

microwaves to heat food

r

fragrances and air fresheners

r

lack of ventilation

r

filtered water stored in plastic

r

neighbouring businesses/offices

r

soaps in toilets (greenwashing is abundant here!)

r

heating and cooling systems

r

cleaning products

r

wall paint and flooring

r

water filters

r

highways, train lines, parks etc.

r

chlorine and chemicals in showers or pools

I can help you to upgrade your current place of business so it is a truly healthy environment for your clients and your staff.

Or, if your planning on moving locations, I can help you to checked the hazards that may affect the health and well being of your staff and clients before your move!

It’s not uncommon for staff to move into a new building and almost immediately feel unwell. It could be fatigue, headaches, nausea, sneezing etc.

Much of this could be avoided with a little research beforehand and that’s where I come in.

I am an experienced environmental scientist operating completely independent of any organisation.

I can guide you on what may or may not be causing a health hazard to you and your staff.

How does an On-Site Healthy Business Review work?

In a Healthy Business Review, I visit you in-person and take a comprehensive look at the everyday hazards in your workplace, clinic, studio or gym.

I flag what may be negatively impacting both your clients’ health and the environment.

I then help you to eliminate or reduce these hazards and introduce you to well-researched non-toxic, low-risk alternatives.

  1. We have an initial phone consultation to discuss your concerns.
  2. Completion of a brief questionnaire.
  3. Determination of the requirement for any additional onsite testing in consultation with you.
  4. On-site audit to assess possible sources of toxicants.
  5. Verbal feedback on the day.
  6. Follow up video and report including a checklist of hazards with a priority rating for action steps and if needed recommendations for a water filter or air quality filter etc.
  7. Follow up phone calls and emails to check-in on progress and any concerns.
